Deftones tickets for the tour dates in 2018 are on sale now! Deftones is an alternative metal band from California, USA. They were set up in 1988 by lead vocals and rhythm guitarist, Chino Moreno. The other members of the group are: Stephen Carpenter – Lead guitar Frank Delgardo – Keyboards and turntables Abe Cunningham – Drums and percussion Sergio Vega – Bass and backing vocals Along with Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter and Abe Cunningham are original members of the group, having been friends since they were children. In 2008 one of the original members of the group, Chi Cheng (bassist) was seriously hurt in a car accident that left him in a coma for some time after it. His injuries were severe that he never played again. He died in 2013. In their early career, the group played club shows before moving on to play shows alongside other bands in San Francisco and Los Angeles. It was in Los Angeles where they got the big break and signed for the Maverick Records label. The band released their first album, Adrenaline in 1995. During their long career, they have recorded and released a further seven albums. In 2013, their album Koi No Yokan was named Album of the Year by the Golden Gods Awards. While their music style was at first rooted in heavy metal, their musical style has varied over their career. A wide range of music genres has influenced the band’s music style. Their music style has led to them being compared with the alternative rock group Radiohead.
